Somewhere Between Here & There
Personal essays about family, Filipino identity, and life’s unexpected resets. I’m documenting the journey of rediscovering home, purpose, and belonging, one story at a time.
Meet Nunu,
Every journey needs a travel companion. Nunu quietly wanders through old memories, new beginnings, and everything in between.
Aloha and kumusta.
I’m Chex. My family calls me “Lot Lot.”
After spending more than twenty years building a career in tech, life unexpectedly handed me a chance to slow down. What I thought would be a break from work became something much bigger: an opportunity to reconnect with my family, rediscover my Filipino roots, and rethink what success, home, and purpose mean to me.
OberrDerr is where I’m documenting that journey through personal essays. Some stories look back on the memories that shaped me. Others are unfolding in real time as I navigate life’s big reset. Together, they’re chapters in a memoir that’s still being written.
If you’ve ever found yourself between places, between identities, or simply between one chapter of life and the next, I hope you’ll find something here that feels familiar.
Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
